Jana Abdel-Gawad is a high school student at Georgetown Day School with a deep commitment to immigration policy and equal access to education and opportunities. In working as an organizer of the Summit on Sexual Assault and Consent with over 500 national participants, she has become an advocate for education on sexual and gender-based violence. Furthermore, she has worked on creating a program to support children of immigrants and immigrant parents in American social settings for both safety and comfort. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at non-profits, participating in national Model UN conferences, and leading her school’s English mentoring program.
